International commodities trading firm Alkagesta has reported record financial outcomes for the initial six months of 2026, according to a dispatch from Emerging Europe. The company achieved revenues of 3.5 billion US dollars, marking its highest half-year performance, despite considerable fluctuations in global commodity markets.

This growth is attributed to increased trading volumes, diversification into new product categories, and an expanded international presence. Projections indicate full-year 2026 trading volumes are expected to surpass 10 million metric tonnes, an increase from 8.7 million metric tonnes recorded in 2025. These results follow Alkagesta's record 2025 financial year, which saw revenues reach 4.7 billion US dollars.

A significant element of Alkagesta's strategic expansion in 2026 involved entering the jet fuel market. Following the establishment of its supply capabilities via the NATO Central Europe Pipeline System (CEPS), the company began delivering jet fuel to the European aviation sector, addressing prevalent supply concerns. Additionally, Alkagesta initiated crude oil trading, executing its first transactions and delivering approximately 1.07 million barrels to the Far East during this period.

The firm also saw increased activity in other portfolio segments, including steel and biofuels, further broadening its product offerings. Its Singapore hub experienced substantial scaling during the first half of 2026, bolstering its presence in Asian marine and energy markets, with monthly trading volumes reaching around 250,000 metric tonnes.

Orkhan Rustamov, CEO of Alkagesta, commented that the results reflect a disciplined growth strategy focused on reliable client service and robust, long-term relationships amidst market volatility. Management currently holds a 35% equity stake and intends to increase this, signalling confidence in the company's future. The company's European and Asian storage capacity has also expanded to 700,000m³, partly through a multi-year agreement for biofuel storage in Antwerp.
