International commodities trader Alkagesta has reported record financial performance for the first half of 2026, as detailed by Biofuels International. The company achieved a revenue of $3.5 billion (€3 billion) during this period, marking its strongest half-year to date, despite significant instability across global commodity markets.

The strong results stem from sustained growth in trading activities, diversification into new product categories, and expanded operations within its global network. Alkagesta anticipates that its full-year trading volumes for 2026 will surpass 10 million metric tonnes, an increase from 8.7 million metric tonnes recorded in 2025.

Orkhan Rustamov, CEO of Alkagesta, stated that these figures reflect a measured and disciplined approach to expansion. He highlighted the company's consistent focus on client service and the development of robust, long-term relationships, even amidst the prevalent volatility in global commodity markets.

Looking forward, the company remains on track to achieve its 2026 strategic objectives. These plans include a targeted entry into the crude oil market, a substantial increase in jet fuel trading volumes, and an enhancement of its storage and logistics capabilities. A multi-year agreement signed earlier in the year for biofuel storage at Pantank in Antwerp has contributed to increasing the company's total storage capacity across Europe and Asia to 700,000 cubic metres.

The positive outcomes occur against a backdrop of ongoing turbulence in international commodity markets, largely attributed to the protracted conflict and uncertainty in the Middle East.
