The Port of Guangzhou recently facilitated the inaugural ship-to-ship (STS) bunkering of bio-methanol.
Chinese manufacturer CIMC Enric provided approximately 1,000 metric tonnes of unblended bio-methanol for the operation.
The recipient vessel was the Green Future, a methanol dual-fuel bulk carrier operated by the NYK Group, at the Lantau Anchorage.
Sinobunker's bunker vessel, the Daqing 268, executed the delivery, as reported by Hellenic Shipping News Worldwide.
This event marks a significant step in the adoption of alternative fuels within the maritime sector in the region.
