Bunkering activities across major ports globally are showcasing a growing diversification in the types of alternative fuels supplied, with some locations offering multiple options concurrently. Hellenic Shipping News Worldwide reported that China's Ningbo-Zhoushan port particularly highlighted this trend.

On 30th September, the port saw three bunker vessels deliver liquefied natural gas (LNG), methanol, and B24 biofuel. This simultaneous provision underscores the expanding 'bunker menu' available to vessels seeking to comply with evolving environmental regulations.

Beyond Ningbo-Zhoushan, other prominent ports also engaged in alternative fuel bunkering this week. Biofuels, LNG, liquefied biomethane (LBM), methanol, ethanol, and ammonia were all referenced in various bunkering operations. This widespread activity indicates a continuing shift towards a more varied fuel landscape within the maritime sector.
