Russia plans to maintain its position as a significant crude oil supplier to India, according to statements made by Denis Alipov, the Russian Ambassador to India.
In an interview with Asian News International, Alipov also expressed strong disapproval of a prospective United States legislative initiative. This proposed bill aims to impose tariffs on nations that continue to import Russian crude.
Russia has emerged as India's foremost oil provider in recent years. This shift occurred subsequent to bans on Russian oil imports enacted by the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union, which aimed to intensify sanctions against Russia following the invasion of Ukraine.
The Russian Ambassador characterised the US Congress's efforts to pass the relevant legislation as a "bill from hell", as reported by OilPrice.com.
