Russia's seaborne oil product exports registered an increase of 16.4% in August when compared to the preceding month. This uplift is attributed to several refineries concluding unplanned maintenance periods and resuming operations.

Despite this monthly recovery, the total volume of Russian fuel exports in August remained substantially lower, by 50%, than the levels observed in August of the previous year. Industry sources and calculations by Reuters indicated that Russia dispatched 4.57 million metric tonnes of oil products during the month.

The composition of these exported cargoes showed a concentration on naphtha and fuel oil. This trend was noted as Ukrainian drone attacks persisted against Russian refineries, alongside Moscow's continued policy of restricting diesel exports.

Most of the reported improvement in export volumes was primarily concentrated in shipments originating from the Baltic region, as reported by OilPrice.com.
